Rustic Spinach Salad
This salad is quite easy to prepare! Can be used as a meal or a side dish or first course although size and serving quantity may need to be adjusted accordingly. Prepackaged ingredients can be utilized including cooked chicken and pre-washed spinach. The Kraft Tuscan House Italian Dressing and Marinade is a must!
Ingredients
8 cups baby spinach leaves 2 small Fuji apples, thinly sliced, cut in half 2 cups chopped cooked chicken breasts 1 cup medium Thompson seedless grapes (optional) ½ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese ¼ cup PLANTERS Lightly Salted NUT●rition™ Heart Healthy Mix ½ cup KRAFT Tuscan house Italian Dressing and Marinade Substitution: Sliced almonds can be utilized instead of the PLANTERS mix. Restaurant-Inspired Tip: Toss nuts with 2 tablespoons brown sugar in nonstick skillet; cook on medium heat until sugar is caramelized, stirring constantly to avoided burning, Spread into a single layer and removed skillet from the heat; let cool. Break into small pieces and toss or top salad. |
Preparation
Combine all ingredients, toss and serve.
Presentation Note:
For a better visual presentation, divide and combine ingredients onto 4 salad plates. Build each plate starting with spinach; encircle spinach with apple pieces and grapes; top with chicken then cheese; add dressing and top with nuts.
Serves 4 people, 2¼ cups each
